Alchemica is an experiment from the Alkanoids² animation studio. It is an interactive, travelling exhibition of static images which come alive – as if by magic, thanks to augmented reality.³ ARIA⁴.

Alchemica was born thanks to the involvement and the collaboration of work by illustrators, animators, sound designers and developers who together have worked to give life to imaginary worlds which for an instant, become real.

Every static piece and illustration was developed from the awareness that they would become the frame of an animated scene. The image produced had to therefore work both as a picture to frame and observe in its immobility within the exhibition but also as a stimulus to action, as the beginning or fulfilment of the animated movement.
